Paige Shildkamp ~ Board Chair

Paige has a BA and MPH (Maternal and Child health) from UNC-Chapel Hill. She currently works for the Poe Center for Health Education, focusing on adolescent health and mental wellness curricula and education delivery around the state of NC. She also works for the Orange County Public Library, fulfilling a lifelong bookworm dream. In addition to that, she coaches CrossFit at Broadreach Fitness and spends most of her free time there. A few years ago, she moved with her partner from rural Orange County into historic Hillsborough and they are happily settled into the area, with plans to be here for the long term.

Shana Scudder ~ At Large Board Member

Shana Scudder has been teaching in correctional institutions for the better part of twenty years and has been involved with social justice work related to the carceral system for even longer. She is an MFA candidate at Randolph College and teaches first-year writing and serves an academic advisor for creative writing majors at North Carolina State University. She also has a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition and an MA in African American and Postcolonial Literature. She is always seeking ways to make all of these degrees actually useful in the world and is therefore excited to be a part of the healing mission of Sincerus.

Oscar Flemming ~ Board Treasurer

Dr. Oscar Fleming is an assistant professor in the Public Health Leadership Program at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. His work focuses on expanding the capacity of the public health workforce to understand complex systems and collaboratively design and implement public health innovations. This includes attention to how change happens and recognizing that inequitable methods reinforce and exacerbate inequitable outcomes and systems. Dr. Fleming began his career supporting HIV prevention education on the National AIDS Hotline and caring for people living with AIDS in the years before antiretroviral treatment. He then served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Guinea, West Africa (1994-1996) before completing his MSPH at Gillings in 1999. Over the last 20-plus years, he worked in the US Senate to reauthorize the Ryan White CARE Act, designed and supported health and community development programs in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and strengthened the capacity of early childhood systems in Eastern North Carolina and across the US.

Neice L. King ~ At Large Board Member

Neice L. King is a native of Washington, DC and of immigrant parents. Neice possesses over 25+ years of experience providing clinical support services in the mental health and substance use profession working with adults, youths, family, and groups in community-based and in-home settings. Neice works diligently to meet the specific and unique needs of each client in an environment which provides for trust, compassion, and validation. Her goal is to ensure that each client feels heard, supported, and empowered. She utilizes a collaborative and real-life approach to develop goals and interventions strategies that will best meet the needs of the individual. Her approach focuses heavily on gaining a greater understanding of the unique needs of each client and the recognition of resiliency in each individual, with using a person-centered approach. Neice says that “my passion is to serve and help others thrive throughout their lives by sprinkling kindness everywhere I go”.  One of Neice’s major focuses is improving the quality of life in minority communities.  Neice has earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Public Relations at Saint Augustine’s University and her Master of Science degree in Human Service Counseling at Capella University.  When not working Neice enjoys spending time with her family, event planning and coordinating, enjoying the theater and arts, water aerobics, exploring vibrant cuisines and thrifting.

Helen Ingersoll ~ Founder

Helen is a lifelong entrepreneur, recovery community member, horse lover, nonprofit volunteer, creator, facilitator, educator, and coach. This next step to create Sincerus Healing is a realized dream of connecting humans with the most healing and life affirming creatures she knows, horses.

Meg Raymond ~ Executive Director

Meg is a social worker who educates masters students nationwide as an adjunct professor for those earning a Masters in Social Work.  Following over a decade of supporting individuals of all ages, families, and groups in their healing journey, she transitioned to non-profit program development and implementation.  Whether Meg is providing support in a clinical setting, resourcing, teaching, or developing programming her commitment to offering customized support to promote growth and healing is at the center.  In 2022, Meg became a small business owner with the founding of Heart Space Consulting where she provides individualized coaching that is trauma-informed, grounded in cultivating self worth, and centered on individualized support.  She also engages  with groups around self care, healing conflict, and building strong teams.  In her role as Executive Director of Sincerus Healing, she draws on  her skills to support growth for small business and organizational  teams with the power of equine experiential learning.  Sincerus Healing’s commitment to engaging with those from marginalized communities is what drew Meg to this work.  Her experience working in partnership with Helen and the horses has enabled Meg to learn more about herself, and translate what the horses are  showing us to inform our lives and promote healing.
